Lawyer Tom Ansell arrives in Salisbury to receive a manuscript from one of the Cathedral Canons who wants the memoirs of his late father locked away until after his own death. But that death comes sooner than expected, and when Tom discovers the body he comes under suspicion for murder. To clear his name, Tom must find the real culprit and the missing manuscript.
