Young Kimball O’Hara lives free in the streets of India, running errands for Mahbub Ali, who works for the British Secret Service. Kim also attaches himself to a Tibetan Lama as a disciple. When Kim becomes a member of the Secret Service himself, he begins to feel the contrasting pulls between a life of contemplation and of action.
