In 1965, Texas football was already a way of life, but white and black players rarely mixed--until University of Texas coach Bobby Layne got permission to recruit black players. Yet it would be the unlikely friendship between Jerry LeVias and Bill Bradley, two star players of different races, that would unite the team, break down the color barrier, and change the game forever.
