In 1972, sixteen-year-old schoolgirl Michelle Pearson gave up her son for adoption. Michelle was told to 'forget she ever had a baby' and 'get on with her life'. As 'one of those girls', she was expected to hide her shame with secrecy. No-one ever should find out she'd had a child. Michelle never forgot her son and in the years that followed she struggled with PTSD and associated traumatic memory loss, agoraphobia and anxiety that impacted almost every aspect of her life. This is Michelle's story of love, loss and hope; of how over 50 years she has navigated her way through the complexities of living with her secret, survived her emotional pain and overcome the challenges of rebuilding her life, since being reunited with her son.
